Many people will know that football is is like religion in Turkey. Supporters are fanatical and loyal. As a result, it perhaps is no surprise that Istanbul has many football pitches where you can play.Nearly all are at a higher standard than you would expect with stands for your fans, restaurants, parking and impeccable changing rooms. We have put together a compilation of the ones we thought would be the most suitable for you.
Indoor Football
Akatlar Sports Complex
A ten year old sports complex, Akatlar was bought by the mighty Besiktas football in 2020. Since then the sports complex has undergone a transformation that is second to none.
There are now four indoor football pitches, two of them 36 x 19 metres with the remaining at an impressive 33 x 55 metre length.
Two of the pitches are available to use 24 hours a day, with the astro turf providing a year round facility.
Both playing grounds have well laid out changing rooms with bathroom facilities. There is also a three storey car par for convenience.
Prices vary for the renting of the pitches but night time is cheaper.
Dikilitaş Sports Club
The Dikilitas sports club is only two years old. The pitch is actually the one used by the club for training and is laid down with astroturf.
To help the club with its finances this professional pitch is available for hire where you can play with all the confidence of a pro team knowing the likes of Hamza from Galatasaray once played on this pitch.
The pitches are 24 x 42 in size and open for hire every day.
Mesela Sports Complex
Playing a great game of five aside whilst the sea breeze flows over you what could be better? The Mesela club located by the sea in Bakirkoy and offers two astro turf pitches 40 x 33 metres in length.
The club is open 24 hours a day and all amenities have been well thought through. From clean state of the art changing rooms to a restaurant offering great pizzas and pastas as well a great breakfast in the brasserie with a stunning views of the sea. There is free parking for 300 cars.
Fenerbahce Sports Academy
Based in Narlidere and opened only a year ago, this state of the art club/complex will leave you wide eyed and with its two pristine astro turf pitches 28.5 x 48.5 in length is more than capable of satisfying even the most competitive Sunday league sides battling it out like the name sake Fenerbahce FC.
On weekends the clubs’ academy players still practice, so you also have a chance of catching a glimpse of some up and coming starts while you play.
The club is open 24 hours a day, so day and night you can while away the hours with your friends.
