In order to use this system, you will have to get a copy of your passport translated at a recognized branch then authenticated at a Notary with the page of your passport showing your leaving and re-entry date to Turkey.

I was once stopped by a police officer who actually told me to keep my passport as proof in my car.

I personally advice against it in case the passport is stolen but that’s the law.

Now if you have fully repatriated to Turkey and you want apply for a driving license you are going to need the following.

Current License

Passport

Four biometric photographs

And the diploma from the last University or college you graduated from.

A proof of address “utility bill and tenancy agreement”

A health and fitness report from your local GP or from a government hospital.

Your TC id card if you have dual nationality

Please note that this report obtained from a private hospital will not be accepted.

Once you have all of these you will have to make an appointment from your local council office known as ‘’Kaymakamlik” which you can do on-line or by phoning 199.

Please note that this procedure can take up to six months.
